He’s a truly busy man, so where he came up with the time to create this pretty awesome “Lakewood Plaza Turbo” for Cartoon Network no one knows.

I say it with a hard ‘G’ because 20 years ago when I started messing with GIFs there was no one to tell me how to pronounce it correctly. I chose the most logical pronunciation and went with it. When you get used to saying something a certain way for 20 years… that’s pretty much how you are going to say it no matter how incorrect someone tells you it is.

It’s like someone trying to tell you “Sun” is actually pronounced wombatnards. It’s going to take an awful lot of effort to train your brain to say “I got a really bad wombatnardsburn today. I should have used more wombatnardsblock.”

Nintendo’s announcement (and YouTube’s acquiescence) is a disaster. It hurts Nintendo, and it hurts the independent creators who through their Let’s Play videos create a unique and valuable experience of a game.

I completely agree. Nintendo is being greedy, stupid, and shortsighted. Nintendo makes money by making great games and systems to play them. YouTube makes money by selling advertising and nurturing an environment where creators can share their creations.

Nintendo is, surprisingly, grabbing a small amount of money (relative to their earnings) and alienating countless customers.

YouTube is, unsurprisingly, being cowardly and not supporting the content creators who have made it worth billions. YouTube is, once again, on the wrong side of an issue with regard to its content creators.

Nintendo’s decision does hurt themselves, but the issue is complex and has been handled in many ways. They haven’t taken down videos, so they’re still there and do not keep people from making let’s plays or other videos. Let’s plays were around BEFORE people could profit on them, so people are willing to do them without profit and even John Green will continue to do it. And they’re going to. Microsoft has their own policies for this same issue, and people still do let’s plays of Xbox 360 games.

As for let’s plays and their “free advertising,” how do you prove that? How do you prove that they’re not hurting the video game companies instead? The videos aren’t going anywhere, so either way, their impact is the same.

What about companies or developers that aren’t as big as Nintendo? It’s possible for a let’s player to make more money playing a game than the person who spent their time making the game. Can’t they decide if people can make profits off of videos of the games they made?

It’s a grey area, and I don’t believe it’s as simple as let’s players having the right to get paid for their work. Before deciding who can do what, talk to game creators and other let’s players. We need discussion.

This was a fun one to do.

It’s Zelda! Though her design is half based on Tetra and half based on Aaron Diaz’s Zelda design from his Clockwork Empire concept.

Which for those who don’t know is a reimagining of LoZ with Zelda as the protagonist. It’s a pretty cool idea but more importantly her tunic is purple!

Purple.

I really, really love purple.

Plus I’ve always wanted to play as Zelda so bam! Now I can.

Her alt outfit (at the bottom) is, of course, based entirely on Tetra’s outfit =]

Anyway, only one more alternate design to go and then I’ll put up a download link for them all.

This is SO GREAT, you guys. I’m glad my Clockwork Empire thing has inspired so many skilled folks to make amazing things!
